The Asphodel fields did not exist before Kore-Persephone created them, giving a place for the dead to at least rest quietly, rather than no where at all. Some stories believe that she ran into the Underworld due to hearing the cries of the dead, wishing to provide comfort.
In this meadow, she sits with us and answers questions we may have. Or simply to provide conversation for things she knows may be weight on our minds. She can be the Goddess of Spring, sun kissed and long curls of hair cascading down and around her, billowing in the wind as she is unmarried.
Or she is The Queen of the Underworld; hair only half pulled up as her husband does not keep her on a chain, so she still has freedom and power still, and the tinges of blue at her fingers from the coldness of death. Yet eyes still burn bright with life.
Or she may be both, as she is never stuck, never stagnant.
